‘Ramayan’ was an Indian epic theme based on Valmiki’s Ramayana. It was also an adaptation of Tulsidas' Ramcharitmanas. But when the serial was telecast it had done research on every Indian languages text of Ramayan and made this serial a super hit in the history of Indian television. The serial had run for two years (1986-1988) and was directed by veteran Hindi filmmaker.
